Can you hook up a vga monitor to a regular dvd player?

I have a 15″ dell monitor and was wondering if you could hook up a regular dvd player and what about sound

Only if your dvd has a vga port. I’ve never seen or read anywhere about a dvd or blue-ray being able to hook up to a vga monitor. The majority of DVD players have only 4 or 5 type of video/audio connection.

Video: Composite video, 3-jack component video, S-video DVI, IEEE 1394.
Audio: Analog stereo RCA, Coaxial digital audio, Optical digital audio.

There is no vga connection on standard dvd players.
